My daughter LOVES these books! I wrote the author and was heartbroken to hear that after just two books, Scholastic did not ask the author to write anymore. My 5 year old daughter loves horses and these books are perfect for me to read to her. We have read them over and over many times and in fact this week for school she is dressing up as Tori for Favorite Book Character day. We have written scholastic asking them to request more books from the author but it doesn't look like it will happen.
My 7 yr old daughter absolutely loved this book. It was the first one that she ever picked up and read all on her own, all in one day. She also re-read it and kept telling me, "it's so good!". I really wish there were more titles in this series.
My 8 year old LOVES this two book series and I'm so disappointed to find out that there won't be anymore.I did find another series that I hope is as good, Marguerite Henry's Misty Inn.As the previous poster said they didn't get anywhere with writing to Scholastic - I may still write to scholastic and share in my disappointment with them.
This high interest read is a favorite among my second grade students! Scholastic lists it as a guided reading level O. However, the beautiful illustrations make this series accessible to lower readers and the content and characters appeal to even higher readers! They have comprehension questions at the end, which my students enjoyed discussing after reading the book. The fact that the book has a positive message doesn't hurt either.
My daughter loved this series, and she read both books from cover to cover and that is saying allot for a dyslexic girl. I love how the content is accessible and the pictures and content kept her excited to keep reading. I really hope they make more!
My granddaughter loves horses and enjoys stories about them. She is a second grader and is having fun reading this book by herself. She also enjoyed the first book in this series.
