My 3 year old son loves Daniel Tiger so we bought this book and he loves reading about each of the characters and specifically, this book is all about Thank You. We are anxious for other Daniel books to be released this year. Always great messages and lessons.
Finally, Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood books are here! Parents and children alike are rejoicing openly in the streets!"Thank You Day" is created directly from Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood Season 1, Episode 28 "Neighborbood Thank You Day." "The neighborhood celebrates Thank You Day by putting notes in the Thank You Tree. However, a windstorm blows them away, but thanks to Mr. McFeeley, the Thank You Day party is saved, to which Daniel makes a Thank You Day card for him." (Wikipedia episode summary) It is very true to the episode. This pre-level one reader describes the purpose of the book to be "shared reading, familiar characters, and simple words." Since it is meant for children learning to read, the sentences are very short and mildly redundant. Not the most dynamic storybook to read aloud, but it gets the job done for early readers. The hardcover book is of good quality. It's 9x6". The pages are matte but filled with full-page illustraitons. Downrating one star for price. Not sure why this book is so expensive. I personally don't feel the extra $8 worth of quality over the $4 paperbacks.Still a good purchase (just wish I had gone for paperback). Our two year old's mind exploded with joy!
Surprised at how flimsy this book is. I hope it lasts longer than a month, I am kinda worried that my two year old will rip the pages. But she does love to read it!
Bought for a 4 yrs old for Thanksgiving gift and will give it to child in weekend
Love this story about Thanksgiving
Our young daughters LOVE Daniel Tiger.. and I love the simple and foundational messages the show presents. This book follows along with the episode of the same title (everyone writes letters to someone they want to thank). We love to read the book and then put into practice what we learned... what a simple and fun way to teach kids to be grateful and to show others their appreciation!
Not much to say about this book but it is of good quality and I love the subject matter. My 2 year old is currently obsessed with the Daniel Tiger TV show so I got her a couple of these books to read before bedtime. She loves them! The price was right and they made my kid happy. Could there be a better recommendation?
Cute book. The story is simple but if you child likes Daniel Tiger and has seen the "Thank you day" episode, then they will really enjoy it!
