"Youngsters are sure to delight in the exploits of this butter-loving pig, savoring the ‘wonky in the extreme’ text and energetic, innocent art." -School Library JournalSome may find it wonky to take a pig to the drive-in. But not the Watsons, who think the movie’s title, When Pigs Fly, is inspirational. And not their beloved Mercy, who is inspired by the scent of real butter from the theater’s Bottomless Buckets of popcorn. As they pull up in their convertible, Mercy lifts up her snout and becomes a pig on a mission, leading a delirious chase that’s trailed by hapless rescuers reunited from Mercy’s earlier adventures.

What a great early chapter book series! I'm a pre-school teacher but had never seen these books until my daughter was going into second grade. She loved that they were easy and could read them in one setting, great for airplane rides or long drives. They're very simple to read and have fantastic illustrations. I use them as "chapter" books with my four and five year-olds in class to introduce them to the idea of listening to a book over several class times, they LOVE Mercy and her crazy escapades.

This is the final book in the series that we have read, and it brought the whole series together well, with cameos from basically every character from the other books. The last chapter is very long (compared to others) and we split it into two nights, which is the only possible complaint I could have. The books are beautifully illustrated, fun to read, fun to listen to, and keep my 4-year-old engaged.

My kids LOVE Mercy Watson! They can't wait to read new books and see what kind of mischief she has gotten herself into this time! It is a good book to partner read with a child because there are only a few words on each page (many in large print)...perfect for beginning readers!

Once I start a series and love the first two books ---- well, you just keep going.I'm so glad the quality of Kate's Mercy Watson's stories have been consistent. I do like some better than others --- but the fact is, I like them all.All the characters do appear in this book ---- amazing how clever she is to think of a way to bring them all in ---------oh, and introduce new characters as well.It surprised me, we had let the books lie for a while ---- after reading every night for months --- and my daughter had forgotten our little cowboy friend. :) What a hoot.

My parents and I purchased this book for my 6 year old nephew for Christmas and he loved it. I was highly satisfied with my transaction, and would use this seller again, if any books or other products I was looking for became available. I was able to purchase this book for $4.00 ($0.01 for the book and $3.99 shipping) which I was completely shocked, but overjoyed at. Definitely worth the money even if I had to spend a little more to purchase.

My grandchildren love the Mercy books.I have bought all of them and other books by the same author. I love the idea of the characters showing up again and again in the different books. I highly recommend this series.

A gentle way to introduce chapter books to emerging readers. My kids love Mercy Watson, from non-readers who love the art work to my oldest kids who still love Mercy! These are favorites! We have the entire hardback set

My grandson also got this one, he had put it on his "wish list" also, and was so delighted to finally get it. The delivery was, at the very best, I couldn't have asked for any better service. Everything I ordered was in time for Christmas, even though I was told some may not make it on time. I was amazed and excited that everything could be wrapped and under the tree for him too.
