I could have stapled a couple of sheets of paper together myself, this was a real rip off!
I bought these for my 6 yr old who loves making books but the cover is to glossy and you cannot write on it. I will order something different next time.
First of, the book is shown as a hardcover book, but it comes as a paperback book. The cover is like a whiteboard texture and you can't put anything on it as the front cover. It falls apart quickly and is hard to work with.
This item was described as a blank book when infact it is boldly lined at the bottom of the page. I was very disappointed to find this out.
It clearly states when clicking on this item that it is supposed to be a 12-pack. It is ONE book which is just a few blank pages stapled together. The cover is too glossy to decorate. For a 12 pack, it may have been worth it, maybe. For a single book, $16 is a tremendous rip-off. I'm severely disappointed.
Our daughter is writing her own books and we wanted to give her some large blank books for this. (We've been able to make books for her with plain paper, but we only have a standard stapler, so the books are small.)Yes, you could easily make these yourself, but not without buying the larger-format paper, photo paper in the same size, and an extra deep stapler. These are cheap and exactly what we wanted - a glossy cover and several blank pages inside. Perfect.
I bought these for my kids to make their own books. They are great for that, but the cover is so shiny that permanent marker is the only thing we've found that stays on, and even that smears if you touch it too soon. Because I bought it for kids and they have to use permanent markers, I give it four stars. Beyond the cover, it's good quality paper and it's well put together.
I used these for a class of 6th graders to worite short stories. They were great except for that the covers are shiny and even with a permanent marker, you can't decorate them.
