This book RIVALS Stan Lee's "How to Draw Comics the Marvel Way"!!!The sections/ chapters are logically placed.Dan Jurgens is a TRUE veteran; his drawing is SOLID!!a. The overlays are EXTREMLEY helpfulb. The illustrations are well drawn.c. The section on inking/coloring is top notch. This book is a MUST for beginners to advanced alike.Old pros will find this book a useful reference especaillyas it deals with Writing, Pencilling, Inking, Coloringto FINAL production. The overlays alone are WORTH the price of the book!!!
This is a very, VERY good book... i highly recomend it... it is a spiral bound book... which makes it easy to look at while drawing.... and there are many pages of characters with a plasticy see through page of the rough drawing, and right underneith is the finished product... i ordered 3 different books at the same time as this one... and i like this on the best thus far.
The book is alright. The reason why I gave it a 3 stars is that I feel like the steps in the book when drawing like the face, head, neck, arms, hips, legs, etc. is brief, but it doesn't really go into too much detail about it. If the steps in the book were more specific, some more examples, or even showed some more technique drawings on how to draw the body, then I would maybe rate it higher.
I love this book. As an artist who loves superheroes, this book is very fascinating. I learned so much from it too! This book is very informative and fun. I first discovered it in Barnes and Noble, and I looked at the price and cringed. I told myself I would look for it on instead, so I did and it's so much cheaper here! I would recommend this to anybody who loves to draw, and is interested in comics/superheroes.
The book came packaged nicely. The pages take you step-by-step into the world of Marvel characters. My 19-year-old son likes to draw in his spare time and completely loved this book. It is a great book for beginners.
Truthfully, I bought the book solely for the stencil in the back. What can I say, I had no action balloon stencil, I had never seen an action stencil before, the price was right.Anyway, the book is very well made, lots and lots of instruction with tracing paper and colorful Super Hero's.Line by line detailed instruction of what to do and how to do it.Take care...
My elementary age boys just love this book. They have spent many happy hours drawing their favorite super heroes. The book is well done, explaining the proper tools to use and how to properly hold the drawing tools. Overall, quite satisfied with this book.
Wow! This book is beautiful AND it really helps you to draw Marvel or any other character! A great guide for those starting in the world of drawing, and a good help for those who are farther along the path. The presentation is really breathtaking, the pages are big, colorful and detailed, and it includes transparent pages so you can see the rough work over the finished piece. By far the best "How to Draw Marvel Characters" book I've ever laid my hands on!
