For quick and clear ideas on different styles of drawing over 40 familiar flowers, turn to this book. From classic sketches to stylized or modern renditions of outlines of flowers, Lisa Congdon offers a practical guide for those wanting to draw flowers.

If you are like me and were tired of drawing daisies, then you'll love this book. This book will break you out of the daisy dilemma. You'll start drawing more flowers, even flowers you didn't know existed. You will marvel that the world had these types of flowers in it and you will marvel even more that you can draw them. I had fun with this book when I first got it and literally didn't put it down for a week or so. But you can bet I will pull it out whenever I want to draw flowers and plants for my home made cards. Great resource!

The books in this series are all great. In this one, "20 Ways to Draw a Tulip", much more than tulips are covered. Sure, there are plenty of tulips - there are drawings upon drawings of tulips - but there are also some other things included. There is a lot of open space in the book - meant to encourage the reader to become more of a participant by doodling the trees in their own imagination, or practicing the doodles throughout the book. This book is great to keep in my car. It's easy to whip it out and work on a page - practice my doodling - while I wait for kids at various activities. In addition to this volume, I purchased "20 Ways to Draw a Trees". That book is very similar to this one, and I would recommend both for artists - or doodlers - of any age.

Not just tulips, but 44 other flowers too. This is a great book for experts or beginners. I really was surprised just how much was included.

I wanted a book with simple flower shapes for inspiration and that's exactly what I got. I love it. I plan to get more from the series

This is a great book to learn basic design of flowers. Use a sketchbook, try out various writing tools and papers and Lisa offers simple sketches that tell you quite a bit about the actual construction of lots of different flowers. Great fun. Her blog is fabulous too.

I think it was the title of this book that misled me. I thought I would see different "ways to draw a tulip." This book is not a demonstration of drawing. It shows images that you can copy if you can figure that out. Some are quite simple, and could easily be copied, others are more involved and you won't even know where to start. So, I'll give it a two, because there are some simple drawings to copy, and the quality of the paper is very nice, but I was still disappointed. If this had been one of 's "LOOK INSIDE" books, I would not have purchased it.

Love this book. Lots of visual stimulation, wonderfully simple yet elegant illustrations. You do not have to be a rocketscientist inorder for this book to enhance your ability to draw all types of flowers.Thank you.
