Jonathan Green is a premier African American Contemporary Artist. The art work in this calendar is alive with primary colors that seem to move on the page. Scenes from his childhood rememberances of growing up in rural South Carolina celebrate the culture of the Gulla people. If you look long enough you can almost feel the soft southern breeze from the low country float across the back of your neck. This calendar is displayed prominiently and proudly in my work space at the office.
I purchased three 2009 calendars "The Art of Jonathan Green" after returning home from a visit to Charleston, SC and viewing the beautiful works of art by the artist in the hotel and in a gallery. My family and I will be able to enjoy the breath-taking pictures throughout the year as we are reminded of our past.
Jonathan Green's art is classic with vivid colors. I love his paintings of women, they look so regal.
I stumbled upon Jonathan Green's art when I saw and bought my first Jonathan Green calendar in an office supply store in Seattle. I will never be able to afford to purchase one of his paintings, but I enjoy them via calendars. I've been buying two Jonathan Green calendars every year for sixteen years. One is for home and the other is for my work office. Just about everyone entering my office mentions the calendar and asks about the artist. Art is subjective, of course, so it's hard to recommend art work to others. However, Green's work is amazing, and I try to introduce others to it. And the calendar part is good!
