I was excited to receive this book and was even more thrilled after reading it. The bands chosen are awesome, the rhymes are catchy (and in some cases a bit irreverent), and the illustrations are fabulously different. Each time I read it, I find more things to discover- especially with the illustrations. I wouldn't recommend it for very young children, but it's entertaining nonetheless for everyone else. Enjoy!
i was excited to reveive this book because it's such a cool idea. when i got it i was severely dissapointed. it's more like a cheap manual than a kids book. think of the manual that is in your glovebox that tells you about your car. it's a flimsy version of that. this book was an awesome idea, but poor quality. honestly i would pass and see if they ever make a hardcover version or a version that's actually worth buying.
I haven't read this book but upon seeing the cover and having the person in the middle throwing up the wrong hand symbol for the devil horns (he is holding up the hand symbol for "I love you" in sign language) it would make be doubt the true rock validity of the contents. The true rocker hand symbol is made with the thumb in, not out to the side. People should know their metal history, it was started by Ronnie James Dio in the 70's, and lately I have been seeing everyone do it with their thumb out and it drives me crazy. That being said, it is a good idea for a book and kids need to learn more about music, so I will give it a chance if I see it in a book store somewhere.
