This excellent series gives an easy to read biography of some famous Brits, including Henry VIII, Shakespeare, Queen Victoria and others â including this one, The Beatles. This short book tells a simple and short biography of the band (it has some minor factual errors that I spotted â John was not born during an air raid, Paul was not 15 when his mother died, but most of the text is pretty much correct), explains their influence on music and popular culture in a brief and informative way and has a colourful, cartoon feel to it. Of course, these books are aimed at young children (approx 5-7) so the story is told in simple and easy to understand way, but the whole series gives an enjoyable introduction to the people discussed. Some real photoâs would have been nice, but this is still a good book/series for young children.
This delightful book is an excellent teaching tool for younger readers in introducing them to the Beatles. The drawings as well as the Long & Winding Road each Beatle traveled from his boyhood are neatly portrayed in this book. Be sure to get this gem for a young Beatle fan or one on their way to Beatle fandom. It gets a hearty yeah, yeah, yeah!This is an ideal companion book to "Who Were the Beatles."
