In retrospect, this should have been more obvious. I didn't see it marked in the product title or description that the sheet music was dumbed down. The cover has key part I was looking to avoid, 'easy piano.' It's not bad for what it's supposed to be but it isn't what I wanted. It has several songs that I really wanted to learn (theme and Pikachu's Good-bye) but they're overly simplistic and it really takes out the feeling behind it. I'm still looking for a more complete arrangement of some of these pieces but there doesn't appear to be anything like that on .Don't get me wrong, this item is fine for what it's supposed to be, I was just annoyed that it wasn't labeled more clearly. If anyone has any leads on some better sheet music for songs from the first few seasons of Pokemon (anything before Ash loses his sacred hat) I'd appreciate the tip.
I bought this for my son, he absolutely loves this great little book. Perfect level for him, he's been playing piano at roughly grade 2 level and is 9 years of age.
Not just for fans of Pokemon. Some of the songs are quite lyrical, like "Pikachu's Good-bye". Of course, the stirring marches are there, too! Pika-chuuu!
My 7 year old is learning to play the songs from the show he loves. It includes lyrics and treble/bass clef notation.
My students are very happy with this book and can't wait to learn how to play the music! Not for beginners. Intermediate.
My son plays the flute and loves all the Pokemon themes. He's currently learning the songs!
Challenging but not impossible for my 10 year old that has been playing for 1 1/2 years.
