I'm an adult and purchased this book to teach me the basics of "tangling". There are 34 tangles in this book. Each is taught on one page in four steps, filling in a square. On the following page, it is shown in use in a complicated animal figure. There is no instruction on how to take the square shaped tangle and convert it to the complicated animal figure. You have to figure that out on your own. To me this is like sitting a kid down at a sewing machine, teaching them a basic stitch, and then asking them to sew a garment. To get from A to Z, there are 25 steps If you stop at step 2, you haven't really taught much.Of the 34 tangles, only 8 of them were pretty enough to ever use myself and I've already been doodling them for years, I just didn't trademark them and give them silly names. ;) My favorites were (1) Msst (lines with dots), (2) Crescent Moon (circles with lines), (3) Tipple (bubbles), (4) Hollibaugh (criss-crossing lines), (5) Printemps (curly cues), (6) Rain (lightning bolts), (7) Nzeppel (cobblestones), and (8) Hibred (lines filled with zigzags).The tangles included in this book are: (1) Static, (2) Keeko, (3) Florz, (4) Msst, (5) Chillon, (6) Crescent Moon, (7) Tipple, (8) Hollibaugh, (9) Poke Leaf, (10) Knightsbridge, (11) Printemps, (12) Barber Pole, (13) Zander, (14) Coral Seelds, (15) Fracas, (16) Cruffle, (17) Jonqal, (18) Finery, (19) Heartrope, (20) Yincut, (21) Emingle, (22) Gneiss, (23) Flukes, (24) Fife, (25) Meer, (26) Flux, (27) Rain, (28) Mooka, (29) Bales, (30) Man-O-Man, (31) Cubine, (32) Hibred, (33) Paradox, and (34) Nzeppel.After going through 's long list of zentangle books, I found a reference to their the zentangle website, zentangle (dot) com.
