My nine-year-old daughter loves Sculpey clay, but until I gave her this book, she was mostly an expert at making snakes and worms. With this this book, she has started to make more complex creations, giraffes, rabbits, teddy bears, ducks and so on. Her creations have more detail and are becoming neater and more professional looking and she is learning skillful use of the clay tools that Santa brought for her. The book is filled with techniques that allow even her artistically challenged Daddy to make nice looking creations.
I bought this book just to give me more ideas on different ways to make animals. The book is very easy to go with and learn. The only down side is most of the "other items" they use besides clay shouldnt be used in an oven. I use mostly oven clay, and I had to find my own way to modify some of the animals so I could bake them. Other than that little bit I liked the book.
This is a great book for anyone who can follow step by step instructions with pictures. I think kids of all ages would like it but most of all those who truly like the art of sculpting. My Daughter has already started making us animals from the book. Work looks like a pro. ;-)
This book is great for clay Animal ideas for the beginner or child or even the Clay enthusiast. If you can work the nation and teaches you from start about clay techniques, different supplies and tricks. I highly recommend this book for anyone looking or looking to make animals. The only thing I think it is missing are step by step instructions. So I had to supplement with an additional book to get more info.
This finally came today and we love it. A very good book for showing children and adults how to make fab clay animals step by step, we are so pleased with it:~) A lovely book for cold winter days when the children are stuck indoors for days or weeks and weeks at a time! Sculpey clay and a couple of books to make animal or any other kind of models are a great way to have fun with the children:~) You could use any type of clay you fancy or Playdoh to make the animals, but Sculpey lets you make the animals and cook’n’keep them and paint them if you want to!
This is a really great book. My sons (age 7 and 10) love playing with play doh and clay. This book is gorgeous, the models are really cute and the step by step instructions make it easy to create everything in the book. Combine this book with some modeling clay, and you have a really great gift.
I got this book along with EZ shape modeling clay and carving tool set for my daughter and she loves it! She gets ideas and inspirations from the book whenever she works with clay on her own or when she has friends over, great book!
I bought this for my daughter for Christmas. So far she has only made the pig but the instructions are super easy to follow and there are a ton of cute projects. Highly recommend!
