I am stunned to discover that in this book the projects cannot be knit by following instructions as written. All of the projects are written to be knitted in the round, but on MOST the project will be far too small for the recommended length circular needle right from start, or decrease to become too small.Examples:1) Little Hat - 16 inch circular needle, 56 stitches at 3.5 stitches per inch; this starts 16", but the directions then have you decreasing to shape the top of the hat down to 14 inches - far, far too small to fit around a 16" needle2) Wrap Bracelet - 16 inch circular needle, 42 stitches at 3.5 stitches per inch; this starts at 12" which is too small for a 16" needle3) Stripy Tub Scarf - 16 inch circular needle, 44 stitches at 3.5 stitches per inch; this starts at 12.5" which is too small for a 16" needle4) Stripy Hat - starts at OK size but decreases to become too small5) Hat with a Rib - starts at OK size but decreases to become too small6) Cuffed Basket - starts way too small and decreases more7) Stripy Leg Warmers - starts way too small8) Snowman - starts way too small9) Mason Jar Cozies - start way too small10) Puppy & Bunny Hand Puppets - start way too small and decreases more11) Owl and Kitten Toys - start way too small and decreases more12) Cowl - starts way too smallNow any knowledgeable knitter could make these - by using methods like double pointed needles, or the magic loop method, or by using two circular methods. But, the directions are written for using only a single circular needle, and a book written for beginners should allow the knitter to successfully complete the project by following the instructions exactly as written.
