I had ordered this book to acquire some buildings to go along with my 15mm wargaming figures. Unfortuately it wasn't quite what I thought it was. No where in the description does it tell you this is Medieval Village. If you were looking for European or Early American, this isn't it. That said, it is very well done and will provide about 11 separate buildings, a bridge and several other cut out figures and period pieces of the medieval era. There are several cottages, an Inn, a church, watermill and a large manor house. Two sheets provide the ground plan to mount them on. The set will match up with the Castle, Cathedral and Town sets. The completed base is 24 x 18 inches, but you can use the buildings separetly for wargame terrain if desired.

The village, unlike castle or cathedral, does not have a lot of shapes strung together, where an error one place will throw everything off. Instead, there are many separate small buildings (including one being thatched), tents for a trading fair in progress, and a church as the one really big building. An excellent model, just not spectacular. Lots of little flat people to pose around. Buildings can be put on individual bits of cardboard (use cereal boxes) if you want them easily rearranged for play or as wargaming obstacles.

I needed this model. We are doing Fiddler on the Roof in Kailua Kona next year, and i a respnsible for building a model Shtetl. This book really helps me accomplish this exhibit.

Easy to cut out, only a sissors and exto knife necessary. This would be a good project for a middle school projecton Middle Ages.
