We received one book in the Roly Poly Box Books series as part of a Bluum Halloween box, and it was love at first sight. My 1- and 3-year-olds were both entranced by the unique book design. Even my 6-year-old (an advanced reader who usually shows no interest in "little kid" books) took time to listen as I read the book and examine it further on her own. We've since added two other Roly Poly Box Books to our collection and been delighted with both.The books are constructed of heavy, glossy card stock, so they must be handled with care. We keep ours out of reach of the 1-year-old except for when we're reading together. I do allow my 3 1/2-year-old to handle them alone, but she usually brings them to me after she's read them and gets me to help her roll the pages back into a box.Snow is our favorite out of the three we've purchased thus far. It introduces nine animals that live in snowy climates, making it a fun introduction to arctic habitats and a a delightful seasonal read that is not limited to a specific holiday.
Great for reschoolers, tho' I wouldn't allow them to play with the book; too fragile! Worth the buy! Older children will be just as impressed.
