I grew up with the Wee Sing series, and had fond memories of the songs, many I still hum to myself today. Its great, simple music, and I really wanted to share it with my daughter, who is currently 22 months old. I was thrilled to find the Wee Sing series on CD (extra cool because if we want to sing a particular song or repeat a song its much easier to do then with cassette). If you only want to purchase one Wee Sing, this is the CD to have, just because they have many of the best songs from the Wee Sing collections. The arrangements have been updated, however, so they don't sound exactly the same as they were before. There are a few songs here and there that I wish were kept in the original format. That being said after hearing it for more than a few times now (my daughter really likes it and we play it almost everyday) the changes are growing on me. The songs bring back great memories.
I am a teacher of preschoolers and I love these songs - all the Wee Sings are such a treat. Great mixture of music and alot of songs on one CD.
We have a few CDs for our son (21 months) and this is one of our favorites. I grew up listening to Wee Sing Bible Songs in the '80s and am happy to be able to share it with my son now. The Best of Wee Sing has children singing many classic children songs, which my son loves. We also pair along actions and dancing to many of the songs (wheels on the bus, hokey pokey, etc.) which makes it even more fun for home and we do what we can safely in the car.
The Best of Wee Sing is an outstanding CD and music book to have in the car to pass the time during long car rides. There are several particularly long drawn out stretches of road between our house and Grandma's, and singing the Wee Sing makes the time go much faster.The songs are all very short (around 1 - 2 minutes) which is good for little ones whose attention span is short. They are memorable and easy to learn for parents as well. The book includes the lyrics as well as the musical staff so more astute children can sing the correct notes.It is something I highly recommend to parents.
Best cd for children ever.My grandchildren love these songs and so do I.The songs are singable, the singers and accompaniment professional.The quality of the sound is excellent.A great learning tool for our youngsters.
My 2 year old loves this CD. We can listen to it over and over again. Luckily she thinks it only plays in the CD player in the play room. I would highly recommend it.
I had this CD when I was was in 9th grade. But had to replace it because it cracked. The Wee Sing site says it is for all ages. I agree. because some of the songs include adults singing on this. Many people tend to think these ar just children's songs but a lot these, such as Who Built the Arkm, Dry Bones, and He's Got The Whole World, aren't just children's songs.. This is a must buy!
I remember listening to these songs as a kid myself, so when my niece was born, I knew I just had to find them for her. They are up beat and fun to listen to (not just for kids, but the adults too!). Highly recommend for anyone with kids!
